Grandfather Golf & Country Club Championship Course

It's easy in golf to think that only one style of course is ideal. Many fans of links golf dislike tree-lined courses. Probably an equal percentage of parkland devotees find wide-open dunescape disorienting. It's a mistake, however, to be dogmatic about design type. What counts is, as I have found, is not whether the course fully achieves whatever it is trying to be. 

Grandfather Golf  & Country Club, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, succeeds powerfully in fulfilling its aspirations to be a premier layout amid rugged, densely wooded terrain.
