Development in and around Grandfather Golf and Country Club has progressed in harmony with nature since its inception. Our community is committed to preserving this beautiful land.
In 1992, Grandfather Mountain was selected by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a member of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
Land surrounding Grandfather Mountain and Grandfather Golf and Country Club belongs to the North Carolina State Park System and the Nature Conservancy. As such, it will be protected from further development for years to come.
Grandfather Golf and Country Club is also a nationwide leader in the preservation of the Hemlock population, using a natural predator of the Hemlock woolly adelgid, which was ravaging the hemlocks.
